The past couple of weeks, we have been digging deeper in the health/safety and management standards for accreditation. By doing this, it is giving us an opportunity to dive into our own policies and procedures and make improvements. In the next few months to year, you will see many different changes and improvements made to the parent handbook and associate handbooks as well as operational procedures. This is an exciting venture for us, as we are always striving to be better.
In the next couple of weeks, we will be rolling out two new medical and allergy management procedures. One will be a binder mounted in each room that contains information on any medical conditions students may have. Associates that are working in the classroom will be required to read and know the information.
The next procedure we are adding is having placemats for all students at meal times, that is color coded. These placemats have the student’s name and picture.
Green = No Allergies Yellow = Mild Allergies Red = Severe Allergies.
We just ask parents to make sure we have current and updated documentation of allergies so we can keep the placemats updated when there are any changes.
Thank you for being a part of the Pettengill Academy Family!
